WeWe have places for children from the age of 3 in our beautiful, purpose-built indoor and outdoor learning environment. We have a strong team led by teacher Mrs Pell, who works alongside experienced teaching assistants Mrs Trowsdale and Miss Lloyd to provide excellent, child-led and play-based learning opportunities. We work “in the moment” to follow children’s enthusiasms and build on their natural desire to learn and explore, so instead of pre-set activities chosen by an adult, we allow children to find their own interests and use this, with great skill and understanding, to enhance and build upon their existing knowledge.

Phonics learning starts gently in Nursery, with plenty of work on speech and language, and provides a sound basis for learning to read.  A seamless transition into Reception year is really helpful as children move into formal reading instruction. The mix of age groups is fantastic for providing support and challenge, and for building good friendships.

Our unique location lets us offer highly individualised provision, and all benefit hugely from our Forest Schools work using the beautiful Mulgrave Woods. Our school minibus means that we can regularly venture further afield to coast, moorland and town facilities.  We offer flexible provision to include mornings, afternoons and lunchtimes; we also have high-quality wraparound care at our Seashells Club.

Please contact our friendly and approachable EYFS Lead, Mrs Hutton, to arrange a visit to see what we can offer your child.

Our nursery hours are 8:45am to 11:45 am and 12:15pm to 3:15pm.

Funded places are available for 15 and 30 hours. If you are not eligible for funding you may also purchase Nursery hours flexibly at £4.00 per hour – please telephone Mrs Welford to arrange this.
