A little more about our governors…
As a retired primary school teacher, living in Lythe and with 30 years of governor experience in other North Yorkshire schools, I was delighted to be asked to be a foundation governor representing the church. I have thoroughly enjoyed the role for the past 5 years, working alongside the other governors and staff at Lythe school. I have 6 grandchildren, so it is good to still be involved in the ever changing education system.
My name is Farrah Jackson and I am currently in my seventh year of teaching at Lythe CEVC Primary School. I have a true passion for teaching and ensuring that all children are exposed to a curriculum that is creative, memorable and engaging throughout their primary school lives.
By being staff governor I am able to help bring the passion I have for a memorable learning experience into our children’s learning. I take great pride in being a part of helping to make sure our children leave Lythe CEVC Primary school as happy and well rounded individuals who have a love of learning that they will carry with them.
My name is Kath Cornforth and I live locally to Lythe School.
I work at Danby School and have being working within education for around 6 years. While working within this field this gave me an interest into being a Governor and seeking whats best for the school, my child and all the other pupils at Lythe School.
I am a Co-opted Governor at Lythe CEVC School. I have 4 grandchildren at the school and have recently volunteered my support in year 6 and year 2. I have 37 years’ experience of teaching in education. I retired in 2012, however I currently provide supply teaching cover at my former school – Handale Primary, Loftus where I was Assistant Headteacher and year 6 teacher. I am currently a governor at this school and have been for the last 10 years. I feel this experience enables me to work with the other governors and staff at Lythe confidently and sensitively as I fully understand the commitment required.
