C) Other useful sources of information and documentsA number of organisations provide information and advice for governors. Below are details of just a few of them. The Department of Education (DfE) now has a new website for Leadership & Governance at www.education.gov.uk/schools/leadership/governance As well as providing a wide range of information for governors, this site also gives a large list of links to other sites of interest to governors. The National Governors Association (NGA) site can be found at www.nga.org.uk NGA produce many useful publications including “Welcome to Governance – A Handbook for New School Governors”. The OFSTED site gives information relating to the inspection of schools and the criteria used for this process. This can be found at www.ofsted.gov.uk The Ofsted data dashboard is available via www.dashboard.ofsted.gov.uk (all governors need to know what this says about their school).
