| Details of our current Governing BodyWe would like to introduce ourselves as the Governing Body of Lythe CEVC School and give you some information about who we are and what we do. Please see the 'Current Governors' section for 'pen portraits' of out current governors. The Governors work in partnership with the headteacher to oversee the strategic development of the school and to help shape the vision and direction of the school. We strive to have a good understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of the school and to challenge and support its senior management. The Governing Body also ensures that the school fulfills its statutory duties, including promoting inclusive policies in relation to special educational needs, race equality, disability and gender.
Membership of the Governing Body as of January 2022
Foundation Governors are appointed by the York Diocesan Board of Education after consultation with the Parochial Church Council of the parish in which the school is situated. There are no declared business or pecuniary interests, including governance roles in other institutions or any interests arising from relationships between governors or between governors and school staff.

Your support for your child’s education is crucial to their progress. Please tell us if there are any adjustments we need to make to help you support your child, for example: letters in large font; letters in different languages; wheelchair access; explaining things over the phone; a discussion with a school colleague of the same sex.
Newsletters are published on our Facebook page and also on Dojo and Tapestry every week for school families.
